InMold Biosystems is setting the new standard for protein coated plastic labware.
A novel IP protected technology allows biological molecules, deposited on the surface of a mold, to be transferred and integrated into the surface of injection molded plastic articles.
Further the protein coated products are finalisation sterilised, -without loss of biological functionality.
InMold technology is integrated within a fully automatable injection molding production line with high productivity, low manufacturing cost, and strict regulatory compliance, which brings unique advantages to the final coated plastic products;
- Homogeneously coating of only the bottom of the well
(other products may have coating up the side of the wells, as well as a lunar shaped bottom coating due to wet chamical coating and suction of excess proten solution)
- No leakage and high binding capacity
(other products may have leakage over time as well as lower binding capacity. These are paramount parameters e.g. within diagnostics)
- Arbitrary coating geometry
(Arrays or homogenously coated surfaces, as well as different proteins in wells are possible with InMold Biosystem technology, allowing easy development of new products. Mixing of protein and growth factor adds further functionality to the InMold products e.g. for stem cell applications).
- Beta/Gamma sterilisation of final coated product
(The unique ability to beta and gamma irradiate the final coated products ensures that products live up to new coming EU regulations for Advanced Cell Therypy Products)
We are bringing our products to the global market place in collaboration with a few industrial partners within:
- Cell Culture (disposable coated plastic labware)
- Diagnostics, (disposable coated plastic labware)
- Diagnostics, (microfluidics, POC)
Biological molecules demonstrated with our process so far, are within classes such as ligand binding proteins (Streptavidin, IgG), extra-cellular matrix proteins (Collagen, Fibronectin), growth factors (bFGF), enzymes, as well as mixes of the different molecule classes.
We have further experimented with thermoresponsive surfaces.
Molecules may be immobilised on larger flat or structured surface area, as array on slide or in wells, or as single spot in microchannel, - and a very dense and homogeneous reproduceable molecule immobilisation may be obtained.
InMold Biosystems has the capability, facility and competencies to to test our technology with customer specific biomolecules.
Information on IP, unique advantages of the final products and the process, as well as documentation related to testing of various molecules, polymers, and comparison with commercial products can be made available after signing NDA and material tranfer agreement. |
